US stalking horse, Australia and the Netherlands have initiated a prosecution against Russia for the destruction of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In 2021, a Dutch enquiry into the MH17 incident, three Russian and one Ukrainian nationals were 'found guilty' of ordering the aircraft to be shot down, killing all 298 passengers onboard.
The Dutch MH17 enquiry can be politely described as a fraud masquerading as a trial. A key part of the evidence against 'Russia' was to be the US satellite imagery showing the launch of the Buk missile that western intelligence claimed was responsible for shooting down the airliner. No less a person that US Secretary of State, John Kerry, had stated that the US had this imagery, but when asked to present the evidence in court, the US baulked. After seeking a subpoena to demand the evidence, the judge agreed that the court would not need to see the evidence. Instead, the court was presented with obviously doctored audio recordings and photographs that had been debunked in 2014, dubious eye witness testimony and the aircrash investigation report. The accused were tried in absentia and their defence counsel did not challenge any of the so-called evidence presented to the court. Russia did not recognise the court and when the four accused where found guilty, Russia stated it would not extradite them.
With Ukraine about to collapse and the US facing difficult questions in the UN Security Council about the biological and chemical weapons labs it has established in Ukraine, it was time to dust off the old distraction... I mean, the MH17 case. Australia just can't do enough to carry America's water. When MH17 was shot down in 2014, the Australian government jumped at the chance to lead the charge in the UN Security Council for a military intervention in eastern Ukraine. Fortunately for Australia, saner heads prevailed and our idiot prime minister, Tony Abbott, was forced to back down. Even his own party came to realise he was a liability and he was stabbed to death in a leadership spill.
Unfortunately there are enough idiots in the Australian government ready to have another crack. Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who's polling ahead of a May election are slightly above that of a six week old corpse, happily does the bidding of his paymasters. Exactly what this latest action will achieve is anyone's guess. Russia didn't recognise the Dutch court, nor any international court, so this case will go exactly nowhere. It is solely for propaganda purposes. What an absolute disgrace.

ReplyDeleteRussia seems to have an "all of nothing" approach: Sit back and do nothing, while NATO advances, then suddenly, one day, out of the blue, launch the nukes.
The alternative I suggest is "retaliatory encroachment": Make the aggressor pay a small price for each act of aggression. Russia laments and deplores the aggression but refuses to penalize the aggressor in any way. That sends the signal that Russia is weak and helpless and hopelessly guilt-ridden.
Saving Crimea in 2014 was the right thing to do. It was the right way to respond to the 22 Feb 2014 coup -- a hostile act against Russia.
But after that, Russia pulled back and froze, while the West has continued to commit hostile acts, shelling the Donbass day after day, year after year, shooting down MH17, cutting off Crimea's access to water, etc., etc.
What caused Russia to recoil and retreat into a shell? Some sort of inferiority complex or misguided guilt? Russia can never placate the evil Empire of the West, no matter how furiously it beats its breast. If Russia is not willing to stand up to the empire, then why prolong the agony: Surrender now!
A self-respecting power would be responding in a measured way to every act of aggression.
* Every time the U.S. sends weapons to Kiev, the demarcation line between USkraine and the liberated zone moves west one kilometer
* Every time Kiev shells the Donbass republics, the demarcation line moves west a tenth of a kilometer
Refusing to respond till the situation is critical and then launching nukes is not a wise strategy.
Like MH17, like WMD in Iraq, like babies thrown from incubators, like Syrian gas attacks etc etc etc. These anglosaxon pirate parasite pests ALWAYS lie. They're professional con-men. If you hear anything from their mouths, you can be sure of one thing: it's a big, fat lie.
